The group, which began business operations in 2007 with the incorporation of T Solar Global, S.A., has integrated into a pioneering business project all activities that comprise the value chain of the photovoltaic sector; from the production of modules using cutting-edge, thin-film silicon technology, through to the development, management and operation of photovoltaic arrays, as well as the sale of the electricity they generate. T-Solar has 28 photovoltaic arrays across eight autonomous regions.
They occupy more that 550 hectares, have a total of 760,000 modules, and a combined installed capacity of 143.15 MWp. In 2009, these arrays produced a total of 212 GWh of clean electricity: enough to meet the electricity demand of a town of 200,000 inhabitants. Expansion plan T-Solar has 25 MWp of photovoltaic arrays under construction in Italy (8MWp) and Spain (17 MWp), where the group is also actively involved in integrating solar array
THE PLANT
Opened in October 2008, T-Solar’s plant (Orense) is the first in Europe to use cutting-edge technology to manufacture thin-film, hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) photovoltaic cells. This plant produces the largest and most powerful solar panels on the market (with a surface area of 5.2 m2 and a power rating of 351 W), and has a nominal production capacity of over 40 MW per annum.
